About: She speaks from personal experience when she says that fitness can change a person’ s life. She used to be 40 pounds overweight and lost it all through fitness and exercise and it has become an integral part of her life. A mother of 3 kids, she feels fitter now than she did when she was in her early twenties! Over the years, she has enabled many people to reach their fitness goals and is truly passionate about teaching. She believes that teaching people how to make fitness a part of their lifestyle allows them to live and enjoy their life to the fullest! She loves to educate people on the idea that they can be fit and lose weight, irrespective of their age.
She loves dance and fitness because they provide a great outlet for healing and creativity. Shelly believes that continuing her education no matter how long she has been teaching is the key to staying on top of the game as a fitness instructor.
Prior to being full-time in the fitness industry, she released a music album in 2004 that was played internationally and her singles “Suddenly” and “ The Night is Young” were played widely across U.S. radio stations. “Suddenly” was featured on the “Freestyle Lost and Found Compilation” put together by Jose Melendez of WILD 94.9 and it featured top dance music recording artists from the Bay Area and it became a top seller on the iTunes Music Store (during one week in June 2004, her album reached #3 for album downloads!). She was featured as one of the top upcoming Asian-American artists on Stir TV Pepsi music challenge and was also featured in the May/June issue of Sassy Magazine in Hawaii, the July 2004 issue of the Filipinas Magazine and New York US Dance Magazine.
