Being a serious student is hard. You’re invested in your studies while still balancing the chaos of life. Maybe you even have a family to think about and take care of, leaving little free time to do much of anything, let alone something you probably don’t want to do, like exercise. It makes sense. In fact, the added stress of juggling too many responsibilities takes a toll on our wellbeing. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, routine stress can cause health problems like diabetes, depression and high blood pressure.

So if you’re an adult student with little time, money or motivation to engage in physical activities, Bombay Jam has workouts tips that’ll help you out. Check ‘em out below!

Exercise as soon as you wake up

Many older students may have difficulty setting aside sufficient time to exercise during the day. Once they get home, they may already be too tired to do any physical activity. In such cases, try working out as soon as you get out of bed. According to an article in Bodybuilding.com, there are plenty of benefits to working out in the morning like having less distractions and improving your mood for the rest of the day. You could do a simple 30-minute exercise routine or you could take a jog around your neighborhood. By the time you’re done, you’ll have got your heart pumping and your metabolism churning so you can start the day at full speed.

Make do with what is available

You don’t need a gym membership or some fancy equipment to get a good workout. Even a one-time purchase, such as our Bollywood dance exercise DVD is enough of a resource to keep your exercise regimen steady. Save time commuting to the gym and set up shop right in your own living room. Learn to dual-purpose any downtime you do have. Baking something for dinner and have 45 minutes? Bust out the DVD and earn that meal!

Take advantage of your school’s health facilities

Universities and colleges have a number of health facilities like gyms, basketball courts and running tracks, which students can typically use for free. A small part of your tuition fee goes to the purchase and maintenance of these facilities so it would be a shame if you didn’t make use of them.

Choose an activity you enjoy

A lack of motivation is a big inhibitor to people working out. Once work, schooling and family get in the picture, there are plenty of excuses for you to stop exercising. Pick a physical activity you enjoy, something that will get you out of bed in excitement. There’s no point in jogging around your neighborhood if you get bored in five minutes. If you like exploring new places, try taking up hiking instead.

If you’ve never done any serious physical activity and have no idea what you’ll enjoy, then take the time to try them all out. Stop by a martial arts gym and ask an instructor if you can try out a class. Check your local paper and see if there are free ballroom dancing classes being offered in your neighborhood. If you just take the time to look around, you’ll find that there are plenty of opportunities to take part in various, exciting physical activities.

Finding the time and motivation to workout is hard but not impossible. If you want an easy and fun workout, check out our Bombay Jam’s Bollywood dance exercise DVD. You can do it at home whenever you have the time. Even with a lot on your plate, there are always ways to squeeze in a workout if you make it a priority.
